Carla Burke is an award-winning Author who won The 2011 Christian Literary Award for her beautifully written and illustrated children’s book, “I Spy a Dragonfly”. She lives in San Antonio, Texas with her husband and two children. Her children and her love of nature with a particular fondness for dragonflies inspired her first children’s book.


This book is excellent for reading to children. It’s colorful and exciting in appearance for children to follow along. It is also very easy to read for children just beginning to read.

I recently bought these books for my 2 nephews & they loved them so now when ever i go and visit the first thing they do is run and grab the books for me to sit and read to them. The illustrations caught there attention whenever they hear dragonfly they always point to the dragonfly on the page

Volunteer Experience

Carla combines her love of children and horses by volunteering every Friday at The Saddle Light Center For Therapeutic Horsemanship in San Antonio where she helps children with disabilities ride horses.
